Aaron Sternlicht, LMHC, CASAC, has a passion for helping those suffering from substance abuse issues and a gift for guiding them into sustainable recovery. At his practice, Family Addiction Specialist in Brooklyn and Manhattan, he coaches a variety of individuals impacted by addiction. He helps them move through their fears, assists them in achieving their goals, and encourages them to embrace a more holistic and satisfying approach to mind/body wellness.

Aaron earned his master’s degree in mental health counseling from Pace University. After working as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor for several years, he was drawn to the world of coaching as a way to enhance his treatment approach. Since making that decision, Aaron has been trained by top leaders in the coaching field and has earned various coaching certifications.

As an Intervention Professional, Aaron assists families in conducting interventions that encourage their addicted family member to seek help. His personal and professional experiences allow him to tailor treatment to best meet each client’s needs.

Aaron specializes in substance use disorders, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, and men’s body image issues. He also has extensive experience working with male perpetrators of domestic violence. He utilizes an eclectic approach and is especially adept at motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Aaron also has an in-depth knowledge of 12-step recovery, as well as alternative approaches to recovery.
