Recovery Coaching Q & A

When should I start Recovery Coaching?

You can start Recovery Coaching at any point in your journey:

At the start of addiction treatment

If you’re looking for a place to begin, Lin and Aaron can help. They partner with a small and intimate team of trusted psychiatrists who offer medication-assisted treatment. Lin and Aaron use this type of treatment for select patients for whom it’s appropriate and who will benefit from the program.

Medication-assisted treatment uses medication together with counseling. You’ll receive Suboxone® to help you safely and painlessly withdraw from your opioid addiction, or your doctor may prescribe a medication like  Vivitrol® to aid in your recovery from alcohol or opioid dependence.

Lin and Aaron also offer drug testing and monitoring on-site or in conjunction with a trusted lab to help during your withdrawal and throughout recovery.

Lin and Aaron also offer Recovery Coaching in concert with your own doctor, sponsor, outpatient substance abuse program, or any other recovery method.

Throughout recovery

You can enter Recovery Coaching at any time during your recovery. When you’re ready to take back control of your life, you’re struggling to make sense of your life, or you recognize you’re on a downward spiral and at risk for relapse — Recovery Coaching can help.

Help with any addiction

Lin and Aaron offer coaching for people struggling with opioid dependence, alcohol dependence, other drug addictions, and behavioral addictions such as gambling, sex, food, porn, or electronic addictions.

What should I expect during Recovery Coaching?

During Recovery Coaching you’ll find purpose in life and get practical help with issues such as:

  • Developing a sustainable recovery plan
  • Preventing relapse
  • Removing obstacles to your recovery
  • Building a support network
  • Learning stress reduction strategies
  • Learning about the effect of addiction on your brain and body
  • Coping skills for negative emotions

As you learn to heal during recovery, Lin and Aaron support your physical health with nutritional recovery and fitness. They’ll also help you find resources in the community to support your recovery.

Will I receive specialized Recovery Coaching services?

Lin and Aaron offer existing clients specialized services such as recovery companions and transportation to recovery-associated meetings. They’re also available to meet with their Recovery Coaching clients seven days a week.

With a recovery companion, you’ll have someone with you when you go to certain high-risk events that may compromise your recovery.

Lin and Aaron also serve as advocates for legal issues, including criminal and child protective service cases. They provide written legal reports and represent their clients in court.

Recovery Coaching is available in-person and through phone calls, Skype, and Facetime interactions. If needed, Lin and Aaron will send text reminders and email.

If you’re ready for Recovery Coaching, call Family Addiction Specialists to set up an initial assessment and talk about your goals and recovery needs.

When requested or determined to be more beneficial for the patient, Lin and Aaron also conduct psychotherapy sessions for individuals and families.
